This is a series that really cares about its characters. Although Momoko is the starring character, her friends Hinagiku and Yuri do rep a obedient amount of airtime and even…(gasp!) have care for interests! This is nearly unheard of in shoujo anime, and it was a really, really grand surprise in this one. Momoko’s admire interest, Yousuke, is an interestingly three-dimensional character that you’ll want to root for.

Perhaps my biggest complaint about the series is that whenever something considerable happens, the main characters resolve to ask the angel goddess, Aphrodite, to wipe well-kept other people’s memories. This fair really aggravated me because it’s not only very childish and “cop-out-ish,” but it’s also greatly slows down the progression of the series (which is already a bit on the dull side) and is incredibly unfair to some of the more minor characters in the series. In general, it’s honest an insanely feeble status plot that’s old to “shapely everything up” device too often.

For people who compare this demonstrate to Sailor Moon (since the comparisons are very, very popular and with sufficient reason) : Wedding Peach is not Sailor Moon. There are some similarities (same character designer, similar beginning site, etc.) but if you give it a chance, Wedding Peach develops into something new and wonderful–and has quite a few strengths that the noted and vastly-loved Sailor Moon series does not have. You’ll procure you relish both series for what they each do well. I know I did.

The Wedding Peach Manga/Graphic Novels have some differences in the sense that while the anime is more driven by plot-twists, the graphic novels focus a bit more on the character development of Yuri and Hinagiku (and especially with respect to their like interests, too) so if you like the anime, you might want to check those out, too.

Wedding Peach is a gargantuan anime that you won’t want to pass up–especially for this substantial sign (you can secure both box sets and expend less than $80 for them together!) To fans of Wedding Peach, I also recommend Pretear, another resplendent anime.

I have 1st season and I kinda liked it. I wasnt so distinct of buying the 2nd season, but blissful I did.
